25th Anniversary of 'Champion of the World' - Wembley Stadium, UK

This week saw the 25th Anniversary of our worship event at London's Wembley Stadium. On Saturday 28th June 1997, almost 45,000 people gathered in the most famous stadium in the UK, to worship Jesus Christ the true Champion of the World. The venue of legends, where the gods of sport and music have been worshipped, resounded to the sound of true worship.

From Wembley, the journey has continued. I had the privilege of being involved in the BBC TV 'Songs of Praise' event at the Principality Stadium in Wales, on the first Sunday of the new millennium. 66,000 people were gathered there and an audience of several million watched on TV.

We called the nations together to worship at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, Germany in 2006.

It is good to look back and reflect on the goodness of God and past blessings. But we do not live there. We keep moving forward..........

.......so on Saturday 23rd July, the national stadium in Budapest, Hungary will be filled with tens of thousands of people from the nations of central Europe and beyond, to worship, pray and declare the good news of the Kingdom.

See you in Budapest!
