I have been blessed with having a great sense of direction. Whenever I am driving somewhere, I have a sixth sense of knowing which direction to take. I have my own built in navigation system. It has been very useful in my line of work.

However, there are times when the system crashes and then I need help. One of those times happened in Berlin, Germany, several years ago. I was driving from the airport to the Olympic Stadium for an important meeting. I knew in which direction I needed to head but on this occasion was 'lost'. In those days, there were no cellphones with Google Maps.
I was waiting at a set of traffic lights and contemplating my next move. A car pulled up alongside me and the driver attracted my attention. I lowered my window and he said to me: “Olympic Stadium?”. I said yes and he replied: “Follow me”.
So, I followed this total stranger's car until the stadium came into view. At this point he waved goodbye and drove away. It was an unusual experience.
People often use phrases such as 'guardian angel' and I am not sure if this was a moment when perhaps a guardian angel stepped in to help me. Psalm 91:1 says - “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;” (NIV)
Whether or not that was true, is pure speculation; but it was an interesting moment for me.
Tricia and I wrote this song for a friend who was embarking on a new phase of life. Sometimes we get overwhelmed by the decisions we face and the direction in which we are travelling.
At these times it is good to know that perhaps we are being guided along the way by the messengers of Heaven.
