Still Dreaming......

These were my first ever 'publicity' shots. Taken sometime during the summer of 1975, when I was just 20 years old. I had joined up with Mike Clark under the name “Seed” and we were about to embark on life as full-time musicians with Bristol Youth for Christ in the UK.

Four years previously, I had begun to dream of becoming a professional singer/songwriter, touring the country, playing concerts and making 'records'. I had spent the remainder of my teenage years, taking every opportunity to perform in front of any audience. I played street corners, churches, colleges, prisons and bars. Anywhere that I could hone my craft as a performer.

Now finally, all the hard work was paying off. I was seeing the dream fulfilled. The start of a new adventure.

Back then, I did not realise the power of a dream and where it can take someone. Sometimes we can dream too small.....

More dreams were coming. Each one a stepping stone to the next stop on the journey. Each one just a little crazier than the previous one.

As a fresh faced 20 year old, I could not have imagined where those dreams would take me. That I would perform in more than 40 countries and play venues as diverse as sitting rooms and stadiums and everything in between.

Right now, our lives are on hold, as we struggle through this pandemic. But this season will pass.

No matter how young or old we are, let's keep dreaming our crazy dreams. However impossible they may seem. Let's remember the dreams we may have carried for many years, that are as yet unfulfilled.

If God has whispered them into our hearts, the promise is as valuable as the fulfillment.
